You can get just about anything you need here; Studio Time, Mastering, CD duplication, Musicians to play in your recording projects, Programming, CD’s, DVD's and Records, Professional help and much more. All this without the need for cash - you simply offer other users your goods and services in exchange for what you need. We believe Bartering will become one of the biggest things to hit the Music Industry since the multi-track recorder. SoundBarter provides the tools you need to find what you are looking for, negotiate and conclude a barter transaction

1. Searching the Listings

• Section tabs:   Click one of the five main Section tabs at the top to show for example, all Music Items.
• Browsing:   The Browse section is found on the blue column located on the left side of your screen. Click through categories until you find what you are looking for. Regions in the browse section indicate where the listers are located. Click through the different countries and their local regions to show listings in your area.
• Searching:   The Search is located in the upper right hand corner of your screen. When you know exactly what you're looking for, just type a single key word into the search box and you'll get a list of relevant Items or Services. Then use the browse in the left column to fine tune your search by category or region.
• Didn’t find what you are looking for?   Check again the following day as new Listings come in daily.

2. Sending a message to the Lister

• When you find an Item or Service of interest click on the title or picture to see a detailed description of that listing. Below the Detailed description is a box that enables you to send a message directly to the Lister. Go to the “My Inquiry” section of “My SoundBarter” to view responses to your inquires.

3. Creating Listings

• Adding Listings:   To add an unlimited amount of free listings, simply click on the “Add free listings” link found at the top of most pages.
• Creating a Profile:   To create a Profile of yourself, simply add listings to all five sections available; Music Items, Music Skills & Services, CD’s, DVD's and Records, Non-music Items and Non-music Skills & Services. This will help you create a Profile that represents everything you have to Offer and everything you may Want.
• Offers and Wants:   With traditional bartering you would say I have "This" and in exchange I want "That". With SoundBarter you list your Offers and Wants separately. By doing so, our system can search through thousands of listings in a second to find potential barter partners.
• De-activate a listing:   Going out of town and need to "hold your calls". Too many inquiries to keep track off. With one button you can remove an item or service from the live listings for any period of time. To re-list just click the Activate button.

4. My SoundBarter / Managing your Account

• The My SoundBarter section is the control center for all your Listings, Inquiries, Information and Settings.

1. My Listings:  All the Listings you have created are stored in this tab. From here you can edit any aspect of your listings. All offers, questions and inquiries that relate to your listings are stored in the Email Inbox section of this tab.
2. My Inquiries:  All offers, questions and inquiries you make relating to other members’ listings are stored in the Email Inbox section of this tab.
3. My Information:   This section allows you to store and edit your personal information; Username, Password, Email address, etc.
4. My Setting:   This section enables you to change the way some aspects of the web site work for you.

• The Email Message Center:   To support the concept of listing every item or service in a separate listing, and listing everything you can think of, we have a simple solution - make all listings free. That is a price everyone can afford! Well how do we cover our cost you ask? Simple. If you use our email Message Center you pay a small fee. It is not mandatory to use it so the service can be entirely free, but for the small cost, great level of organization, and our unique SoundBarter Agreement we believe it to be more than worth it. In any case activating your private email Message Center is only $7.95 for 3 months of unlimited emails on unlimited listings. Best of all you only pay if you get a response to your listings. Visitors can browse the site and use the search facilities free. All that a visitor must do to respond to your listing is provide a username and password, so that SoundBarter can provide them their own email Message Center. Anyone including visitors can send unlimited Inquiries free. This means that members and even visitors can all be negotiating with you to complete a trade, which increases your exposure significantly.

1. Email Message Organization: You are going to get lots of email response to your listings from many different inquirers. You are also going to Inquire into many listings you find. So you need us to organize your discussion records in a way that ensures you don't loose track of what's happening. All discussion with potential barter partners is automatically stored by Listing and by Person in your Inbox section - you will never need to hunt for messages or try to remember who said what or when they said it.
2. Online Barter Agreement: You can access a useful online barter agreement form to assist you in concluding a Barter. Next to the message box in each individual’s email discussion is a button that says "Draw up a Barter Agreement". Click this button to bring up a barter agreement between the two parties. Each party can fill out their side of the agreement online. Upon completion it can be viewed online or printed for your own records.

5. Rating System

Our rating system provides a guide as to the experience and reliability of other members with whom you may be contemplating a trade. Ratings change according to reports submitted by other members, similar to rating systems offered by several other leading sites.

7. Protecting Your Privacy

We have ensured that there is no exposure of your email address or any other personal information to anyone, even members. Members and guests communicate with you via our internal email messaging system which at no time exposes your actual email address to anyone. In addition, your information is held on our secure server that relies on advanced encryption technology commonly used by banking and eCommerce sites.
